Q. Is it worth getting my computer fixed or should I just buy a new one?
We understand that new laptop computers or desktop computers are reasonably
cheap at this stage. For this reason, is it worth getting your computer repaired or
just to buy a new one? There are few factors to consider:
a) The age of your laptop computer or desktop computer: The older it is the
less you’d want to spend on repairing it.
b) Software and setup: If you buy a new laptop computer, can you get the software
you used to use to install in the new laptop computer or do you have to buy the
new piece of software. The software could be very costly and it can be very painful
to rebuild your personal setup in your new laptop computer.
c) Data transfer: It could be very expensive if you have lots of email, documents, music
and photos etc…
d) Computer issues: If the issues of the computers are very straight forward such as
broken screen repair or keyboard not working etc… The new parts will 100% fix the
issues. If the issues are intermittent, corrupt display or random shutdown etc…These
could be the sign of future unreliability.
At The Laptop Guy, we offer $55 diagnostic service, we will tell you what is wrong with
your computer and how much it is going to cost to repair your computer. We only charge
this fee if you decide not to proceed with the repair of your computer.
